written all over Marcel Broodthaers’ Un Voyage en Mer du Nord, which is a voyage no longer. its images have been excised, favouring the artefacts of his film – scratches spots the leader the lens dirt. it contains
the artefacts of reading as images, remnants of pages & texts, writing into each other.
the film becomes a space infected by a poem speaking across spaces, bodies & books.
the video houses its referents, its associations with other books & films, & the
connotations its language generates: pages filled with cells dividing,
bodies transgress the margins/the borders flex in its gutters through smoke & flames
written into the line breaks,
collapsing buildings linger in the margins.
